Webinar: Breaking the Resolution Barrier: New Workflows Defining Chromatin Architecture at the Nucleosome Level
From the creators of the Dovetail™ HiChIP and Micro-C assays respectively, Marco Blanchette (VP R&D) and Lisa Munding (Lead Scientist) will share their experiences and impetus for developing these game changing assay kits for epigenetic research. Details on the how the kits work, their benefits and the ways they see these new technologies impacting genomic research will be shared.

Workshop #1: Dovetail™ Kit Protocols Workshop
In this workshop, you will learn from our technical support scientist, Dr. Myriam Elkhawand, how to implement Dovetail™ Omni-C ™, Dovetail™ Micro-C, and Dovetail™ HiChIP MNase workflows in your lab. Frequently asked questions, like supported input material and protocol tips and tricks will be addressed.

Marco Blanchette, PhD, VP Research & Development, Dovetail Genomics
Dr. Blanchette received his PhD in molecular biology from Universite de Sherbooke in Canada. His doctorate focused on the molecular basis controlling alternative splicing of RNA. He then served as a postdoc with Don Rio at UC Berkeley where his group pioneering the use of custom microarrays to quantify alternative splicing isoforms. Prior to Dovetail genomics, Dr. Blanchette held a faculty position at the Stowers Institute for Medical Sciences in Kansas City where his focus was on applying next generation sequencing and other high throughput assays, like large RNAi libraries, to study the regulatory networks of RNA binding factors in controlling gene expressions. Dr. Blanchette joined Dovetail Genomics in 2015 where he has been leading the R&D team in developing assays around proximity ligation.

Lisa Munding, PhD, Lead Scientist, Dovetail Genomics
Dr. Lisa Munding is a R&D Staff Scientist at Dovetail Genomics and has lead the development of Dovetail’s most recent restriction-enzyme free proximity ligation assays, Omni-C and Micro-C. Dr. Munding’s training background and research interests are in gene regulatory networks that contribute to development and disease. Dr. Munding received her PhD from University of California, Santa Cruz with a focus on global regulation of pre-mRNA splicing networks during development and her post-doctoral training, completed at Stanford University, was focused on the regulatory networks of non-coding RNAs. At Dovetail, Lisa applies these research interests towards development of assays for study of chromosome topology and its role in gene regulation.

Myriam El Khawand, PhD, Technical Support Scientist, Dovetail Genomics
Dr. El Khawand leads customer success at Dovetail and has been with the company since 2018. Myriam completed her PhD in Molecular Microbiology in the UK at the University of East Anglia and the University of Warwick. Prior to joining Dovetail, she was a lecturer in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon.

Jay Ghurye, PhD, Senior Bioinformatics Scientist, Dovetail Genomics
Jay Ghurye completed his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Maryland in 2018 working on algorithms for genome and metagenome assembly. Dr. Ghurye has been with Dovetail Genomics since January 2019.
